Ceramics
A watch material so innovative, it’s almost unreal. Dreamed in California by MVMT.
Lighter and harder than steel. Virtually scratchproof.
Ceramic is a solid, nonmetal, hypoallergenic material with some seriously impressive technical qualities: it’s 40% lighter than stainless steel, harder than all other materials besides diamond, and almost impossible to scratch. The result is a watch that feels unbelievably smooth on the wrist and elevates your style with a beautiful, rich finish that keeps its luster over time.
"almost magical."
How it's made
The process of realizing ceramic into watches is as much an art form as it is chemistry. Meticulous and inspired, take a look at how your MVMT ceramic watch is engineered to perfection.
Final finish
The last stage creates the x-factor that sets ceramic apart from all other materials–its unparalleled finish. Here, it’s either polished by tumbling for 24 hours, three consecutive times, to achieve a smooth glossy luster, or diamond-blasted to achieve a rich matte finish.
Pure materials + Color injection
Your MVMT ceramic watch begins as pure, precisely calibrated, and completely uniform organic ceramic powder particles. That powder is then infused with our original ceramic pigments to achieve rich tones and ultimate color retention over time.
Shape forming
The raw material is then molded under precise conditions to ensure exact uniformity and quality.
Molten sintering
Next, our engineers forge the ceramic powder at molten temperatures (1,500 degrees Celsius for 28 hours) under high pressure, then bake the newly formed watch segments until they reach their technical peak.
Precise machining
The new ceramic material then undergoes a regimented machining process until it's shaped into its final watch silhouette.

From rocket tech and formula racing to your wrist.
Engineering ceramic is tested and trusted by some of the world’s most ambitious industries for a reason. Known for its unparalleled scratch-resistance, feather-light structure, and insanely high melting point, this state-of-the-art material has traveled to space on the cones of rockets, soared the skies on jet engines, and hit the highest speeds in the game on formula race cars. At MVMT, it gets to see the world from the wrists of our community.
Color Lab
Before anything is forged, baked, or diamond-blasted, the color pigments are directly blended into the ceramic powder. So your watch’s original MVMT ceramic colorway isn’t coating—it’s infused into every ounce of the watch. This means the color won’t fade, the finish can’t scratch off, and the watch will look vibrant every time you wear it, whether that’s today or ten years from now.
